Description:

CFO    Professional Services Organization with 15 locations                             within Alberta

Reporting to the CEO, the CFO will be responsible for the overall success of the company by providing expertise in the following areas:  Strategic Financial Planning, Corporate Accounting, Operational Planning (including HR Processes, Procurement and IT Development), and Business Development (including investments, mergers and acquisitions).  Through strong leadership, the CFO will be able to promote company culture, vision and values and help to lead employees to obtain maximum performance and dedication.

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS:

Develops, implements and monitors financial goals and strategies by contributing financial and accounting information, reviews established strategies by evaluating trends; establishes critical measurements/metrics tied to the strategies and makes recommendations to the planning process to enhance corporate financial success and profitability

 Oversees the corporate financial activities which include:

         arrange necessary financing for day-to-day and long-term business operations

         monitor capital investment and cash-flow planning while maintaining banking relationships

         monitor current and future corporate income tax liability to minimize exposure and ensure compliance

         review capital budget requirements and monitor capital expenditures

         review financial statements and consolidated financial reports with relevant supporting documentation and present to the senior management team/board of Directors

         construct and monitor reliable control systems

          -          monitor all forms of insurance coverage and related insurance claims

Assists with operational goals and strategies by contributing to other business areas including HR, Procurement, and IT; evaluates performance, analyzes and interprets data and critical metrics, makes recommendations to increase organizational performance, maximize efficiencies, identifies opportunities for improvement, cost reduction and systems enhancement

Participates in key decisions in formulating the company’s future direction and supports Business Development activities which identifies tactical initiatives and expansion activities, recommends organization and operational prospects by studying economic trends, revenue opportunities, projecting acquisition and expansion prospects

Implement best financial and operational practices to reach corporate goals while attracting and retaining a high performing management team, direct reports (2-4 employees), employee-base of 140 employees.

Understand and mitigate key elements of the company’s risk profile, monitor legal issues affecting the industry and ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements

Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the management team and Board of Directors

QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate will have a professional accounting designation with 8 – 10 years of senior level of experience demonstrating strong leadership and communications skills.  You will have experience working with a multi-location business with a background in the professional services industry.  You will have a strong proficiency with Microsoft Office.  You will possess extensive knowledge of Quickbooks with the ability to oversee a system implementation to a new accounting platform.  You have the ability to travel within Alberta for day visits to other offices or overnight stays. 

COMPENSATION PACKAGE:

Salary of $180 - $200,000/year plus a potential bonus plan, vacation to be negotiated, and other excellent benefits and opportunities within the company.
